Susan & Sean - Happily Ever After and Featured on Project Wedding!

Monday, February 25, 2013

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to share Susan and Sean's wedding. The fact that it is also being featured on Project Wedding as their wedding of the WEEK is totally icing on this polished, clean and romantic cake!

Helping Susan and Sean design and plan their wedding day could easily be one of the most fun and rewarding things I have experienced. They are truly the sweetest, most laid back couple, just filled to the brim with style and creativity. I consider myself lucky to now call them friends! I loved that they always had great ideas at every meeting, but also trusted my advice on their design choices and really trusted me to do my work. I feel like this always makes for the best type of relationship and overall wedding! It all began with the amazing venue that we chose together - I just knew that the Music Center would be the perfect space for their clean and polished wedding, with just the right amount of pomp and romance. I am so happy that they felt the same way! Once this was decided, I was able to help them hand-pick all of their vendors and have to say, it was a true dream team!

Please check out their wedding feature this week on Project Wedding! In the meantime, here are some of my favorite images from their day!

First of all, Amelia Lyon (one of our favorite people and photographers ever!) was able to capture some insanely amazing portraits of this good-looking couple.

One of my favorites from their day! Who wouldn't want to get married at the Music Center after seeing this?!

Susan's Valentino shoes... Get out!!!

Our color palette was a fun combination of shades that both Susan and Sean gravitate towards - pewter, slate gray, seafoam green, coraly peach, concord grape, gold and loads of white and cream. These colors were largely used in their paper goods, especially the RAD invitation suite that Sean designed and Susan and Sean printed and assembled. The colors were also incorporated into the escort cards and assembled into a large ombre display.

Cindy from Floral Elements did an amazing job keeping things looking clean, fresh and fun with the florals, while still maintaining a romantic and high-end look. We balanced out all the colors of the wedding with  soft white and cream flowers that had the softest hints of peach and coral mixed in here and there.

Her peach juliet garden rose bouquet!!!

I love how happy they are here. How every couple should look when exchanging their vows/rings. :)

Happily ever after begins here!!

The Grand Hall of the Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion has to be one of the loveliest places in LA to throw a party and celebrate a life of love. Those chandeliers mean business.

I love these following images because I know some people might be "scared" of the green carpet in the Grand Hall, but we felt like it matched perfectly with our color palette and loved the mid-century mod feel of the existing colors and decor. We were able to soften them up a bit with the linens we brought in from trusty La Tavola Linen! Can't wait for their new 2013 books to come out next month!

And some more close ups of some paper goods Sean created for their tablescapes. Susan is known for collecting match boxes from the restaurants that they frequent, so they gifted personalized match boxes to each of their guests. So fresh!

I love the sweetheart table set-up we had for them. In true So Happi Together style, we brought in a vintage settee from Found Vintage Rentals to make their setting feel extra cozy and special. I love the pieces Cindy brought in for their table.

And a total treat for the eyes and the tastebuds - sweets from Sweet and Saucy! I love their ombre cake and how we kept the dessert display simple and clean, in line with the rest of their wedding design.

Sean designed the cake topper himself! If you want one, please let me know and I will put you in touch with him. I love that it totally fills a current void in the cake topper "market" for modern brides.

To honor their heritage and families, they had a Korean traditional ceremony called a Paebaek during the reception and looked amazing in the traditional garb! Guests were invited to view the Paebaek ceremony or continue dancing, and it fit in seamlessly with the rest of the wedding.

Susan and Sean - I had so much fun getting to know you both during your planning process and am so happy to be able to call you my friends. You two are so perfect together and I have been blessed to witness your love and commitment to each other. I miss our meetings over coffee and laughs and still dream about the cannolis you gave me! YUM!! Can't wait to see you both soon!! LOVE YOU!!!
